In 2023, Inspired by Design celebrated 30 years in business with 3 of them as a brick & mortar store in Dungog. It is here that allowed the inspiration to manifest within the walls of this beautiful Heritage building.
146-150 Dowling Street began life as an Angus and Coote Jewellers and through time, evolved into the J.A. Rose building before being purchased by Katherine and Scott in 2020. Continuing on generations of tradition, they live and work from the building which now houses both Inspired by Design and Speedy Cycles. Beautifully seasoned careers sprinkled with a spice of corporate, essence of design, a pinch of creativity and garnished with a whole lot of love provides the perfect recipe for what awaits in store for you.
It is not a pop in and see place. Take time to escape and consume the spaces. We bring you the most beautiful, affordable, ethical products and practices which we are able to source. Most of what is in store is new, however there is some vintage and gorgeous found treasures including artisan works which make the store like no other.
Inspired by whatever takes you to a happy place, this treasure trove pays homage to love and the love of Mermaids, Pirates, Fairies, Vikings, Steam Punk, Narnia, Bohemian, Cosplay, Romance, Nature, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Victoriana and more.
Imagine finding a store which encourages and supplies products for you to create a beautiful home space featuring quality home maker products, decor and finishes. Products which you can artistically apply to walls, ceilings, windows and furniture. A store where you can find a quirky lamp to light up life or a curtain to veil your window. A found curio which sparks life and delights.
Then… imagine that same store offers you gorgeous clothes, accessories and jewellery which cocoons, nurtures and celebrates you and your loved ones. Pair all this with an in-store experience you are not likely to forget.
